AS A DALIT WOMAN ARTIST I CHOOSE NOT TO BE SILENT ANYMORE IN THE BRAHMINICAL, PATRIARCHAL, RACIST AND HOMOPHOBIC WORLD OF OPPRESSIVE INJUSTICES - Protest chant 01
2022, Dalit menstrual blood, white cotton fabric, thread, unwanted/used clothes, cotton sheet, 82x74mm
This is my first work engaging with anti-caste art ac-
tivism. The chants are echoing the pain, silencing and
oppression I have experienced throughout my life
within and beyond oppressive pedagogy. In reckoning
moments of clarity, I seeked for much needed solidarity, while also acknowledging the oppressive patterns
of other social hierarchies.
